NAPSLO Members Can Sign-up to Host Summer Intern

NAPSLO meber firms interested in hosting a NAPSLO Summer Intern in 2009 should register for a 30-minute webinar on Wednesday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern to learn the details.
New prospective host firms must take part in the webinar but previous hosts are not required. All prospective host firms must complete an intern host application form by Feb. 13 to request to host an intern in 2009.

Over the past few years the NAPSLO Internship Committee has expanded the number of interns it annually hosts and may be needing a host in your geographic area in 2009. Details about the intern host process, the costs, and time commitment will be reviewed during the webinar.

Hotel Rooms Still Available at Mid-Year

Hotel rooms at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort during the NAPSLO Mid-Year Workshop, Feb. 26 - March 1, are still available. Members can register for the Workshop online and reserve a hotel room. More than 500 people are expected to attend the Mid-Year in Indian Wells, Calif.

Online CE Program to be Demonstrated at Mid-Year Workshop

NAPSLO has signed an agreement with Success Continuing Education to offer NAPSLO members the ability to obtain continuing education credits online and the program will be demonstrated at the Mid-Year Workshop.

Demonstration sessions are set for 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 and at 8:00 on Friday, January 27. In addition, walk-up demonstrations will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Under the program, employees of NAPSLO member firms will be able access the CE courses through the NAPSLO website and complete the process online. The cost is $34.95 (plus state fees) per person for unlimited courses for a year or $14.95 for individual courses.

Executive Leadership School Registration Deadline Extended

The registration deadline for NAPSLO's Executive Leadership School, set for Feb. 8-11 at the University of Virginia, has been extended to Jan. 28 and spaces remain in the school.

This is the first year NAPSLO has offered the Executive Leadership School and it will be taught by professors from the Darden School of Business. The application and brochure are available to download and the cost is $2,995, which includes registration and accommodations.

The Executive Leadership program is aimed at senior-level employees with 15 years or more of industry experience. Participants will learn how to enhance their executive level leadership skills and become more able to effectively manage change at the personal, team, and organizational levels.

Registration Approaching 350 for Mid-Year Workshop

Nearly 350 people have registered for the 2009 NAPSLO Mid-Year Educational Workshop, set for February 26 to March 1 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells, Calif., and a list of attendees is available to download.

Registration fees ($695 for delegates, $425 for spouses) will increase after January 15. Members can register online at the Mid-Year Workshop Registration Page. A link to reserve a hotel room at the Renaissance Esmeralda is provided at the end of the registration process.
