The Louisiana House of Representatives will consider House
Bill 543, a bill designed to bring parts of Louisiana statutes into line with
the Nonadmitted and Reinsurance Reform Act of 2010. The bill deletes a number of eligibility
requirements from Louisiana law that would otherwise conflict with the
NRRA. In addition, the bill would
eliminate the requirement for a diligent search affidavit when placing personal
lines of business. Additional amendment
to the Bill have recently been proposed that would eliminate the white list and
create a voluntary approved list. NAPSLO is tracking the bill’s progress;
